Bad Ischl | Water Sound Flows
"In this acousmatic concert, we present electro-acoustic compositions inspired by these landscape forms and stage them in the courtyard of the imperial stables via 20 loudspeakers. The pieces utilise field recordings, i.e. original recordings made at various locations in the region. Synthetic soundscapes are added, reflecting the textures and shapes of the terrain.
Compositions by: Kasho Chualan, Thomas Grill, Jonas Hammerer, Wolfgang Musil, Markus Sepperer, Finnian Treherne
In co-operation with the course for electroacoustic and experimental music (ELAK) and the ÆSR research project"
Water Sound Flows
Thomas Grill and his team connect the places in the region by presenting the sounds of water in various forms and using different artistic strategies.

ORF Ö1 Words like Music
“Ö1 Worte wie Musik” radio programme on how language is deeply connected to music and the musical characteristics of languages. As part of a lecture at my university called “Radio Production” together with a colleague I wrote, edited and moderated this programme.“Every language has its own melodies and its own rhythms - think of English, Italian or French. Stresses manifest themselves differently, syllables vary in length and articulation sometimes takes on special significance. But how are the different musics of the world and their languages connected? How do lyrics sound when they are sung in a language that is not the singer's mother tongue, and can music help us to learn a new language?”

Der gute Ton: Soundscapes
Der gute Ton 23.10.2023: Soundscapes
What does a forest sound like when it is pierced by light? Who can imagine music in the midst of construction site noise? And what influence does film music have on our attitude to film? A wide variety of images can be painted with the help of soundscapes. Everything from music and natural sounds to the human voice can be used to create a sceneComposer and student on the electroacoustic and experimental music programme Finnian Treherne talks to sound engineering student and presenter Maximilian Fugger about the connection between music and images.Guest: Finnian TreherneDesign & sound engineer: Maximilian Fugger Quelle: https://guteton.blogspot.com/2023/10/der-gute-ton-23102023-klangkulissen.html

Ö1 Kunstradio: Sound Miniatures
In these electro-acoustic miniature worlds we suddenly and quite clearly see different signatures of the ten young composers who are currently students of ELAK (course for electro-acoustic and experimental music). The miniatures are presented in a kind of Petersburg hanging for the ears - postcards from other worlds. These ten experimental works are magical and precise soundscapes. With works by Kasho Chualan, Ilja Danzinger, Valentin Gruber, Miriam Jochmann, Philipp Kleinwort, Sebastian Meyer, Marius Neuner, Ellen Preuss, Stefan Raschbacher and Finnian Trehern

Release of Photonic Forest
Release of “Photonic Forest” on all major streaming platforms. This piece is about nature and the question, whether humanity with all its´ involvement in destroying the planet we live on, can still be part of nature. This piece was first composed for and performed at the “ELAK SOMMER CONCERT” of 2023 and then at the “KOMETENTURNEN #02”. This piece began in Schrattenberg, Austria. Together with my colleagues, we had a workshop there organised by my professors of the ELAK. We focused on nature and our own work, without any given rules. I spent all my time in the woods and on the grounds of the old Schrattenberg castle ruin, which was our direct neighbour for a week. Birds, wind, the train sounds from the valley below and waterfalls were the themes I explored, recording them with my field recorder. This later evolved into this piece, Photonic Forest. The photos below I took are of the old ruins and castle grounds where I recorded.

ELAK WINTER CONCERT
ELAK CONCERT with latest pieces by the ELAK stundents at the mdw. Finnian Treherne presented his piece “Momentum” . “This piece is very special to me as it was my first piece during my first semester of studies. I decided to implement a combination of sampled instrumenents of personal recordings, some processed with effects and some not. A very personal aspect to this piece is the Djemebe I played to addrhythmic textures that were so important in my childhood in Tuscany. The yearly giostras, where many drummers would parade through my home town, something I found very thrilling and to this day believe was one of the first musical influences I had." https://esel.at/termin/117147/elak-werkstattkonzert
